ROLE VP OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT TEAM PRODUCT HOURS FULL TIME LOCATION COPENHAGEN START DATE DECEMBER 1ST 2023 We at SOUNDBOKS are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Product Development to lead our product engineering teams and drive innovation, best practices, and excellence in our next-generation products. As the VP, you will oversee multiple product engineering teams consisting of talented managers and engineers with cross-disciplinary capabilities within hardware, firmware, software and APP development. The teams work collaboratively to deliver successful products, from concept development to manufacturing, in order to make SOUNDBOKS a global success and the preferred supplier of the party. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our product roadmap and play a pivotal role in shaping SOUNDBOKS’s future. You will work closely with the teams to define and execute a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with our business strategy & goals. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end product development process with a primary focus to drive a holistic product roadmap across the product engineering teams, cross-functional teams, and with external partners. Here’s what we expect the tasks of your daily life to look like in the three main pillars: Leadership: Leading the product development department which consists of 25 diverse FTEs and 4 direct reports. Unifying and supporting internal teams, structures, processes, development methodologies, and tools to improve quality, cost, and delivery timelines. Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the product development department. Promoting and improving project management and JDM capabilities within the product development teams and cross-functional workstreams. Product Development: Partnering with executives, team leaders, commercial functions, and external partners to understand the needs of our customers and build a roadmap that is responsive to near-term business needs and moves SOUNDBOKS towards strategic goals. Taking ownership of product and project planning, prioritization, and delivery across SOUNDBOKS product roadmaps and stakeholders, spanning across technology platform, product specifications, development, and OEM/JDM/ODM. Making critical decisions on insourcing versus outsourcing activities to maximize value creation and balance time, cost, and quality. Overseeing the function’s execution and delivery performance with an aim to improve project cycle time contributing to revenue growth. Product Leadership: Taking ownership of the development and implementation of a product and project roadmap, expanding SOUNDBOKS’ competitive advantage, and resolving any technical and/or resource gaps/excesses. Unifying & supporting product concepting and specification processes that align across teams and stakeholders. Contributing clarity, direction, and support to all stages of the product development process within the product development teams and across the organization. Defining, tracking, and reporting clear metrics and goals to maximize the business impact of our product investments. In order to become a success in this role, we believe that your profile should be aligned with the bullets listed below. You have 10+ years of proven experience in a consumer-oriented product or engineering function, demonstrating a deep understanding of product development processes and technologies (with both hardware and software). You have 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within a product or engineering function, hence you’re skilled in leading and guiding cross-functional teams towards successful product launches. You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related field. Your leadership and communication skills are outstanding and you have put them to good use to articulate and communicate clear product vision, roadmap and progress to both internal and external stakeholders. You have gathered experience and a good track record of delivering electronic products with external/outsourced contract manufacturers (OEM, JDM, ODM). You have a deep understanding of product development processes and methodologies as well as proven experience of successfully bringing products to market and improving existing products based on user feedback and market demands. People say you’re highly driven and result-oriented, with a track record of delivering products on time and within budget – your project management skills are coming in handy there. You do possess a solid understanding of cross-disciplinary engineering and product development involving electronics, mechanics, firmware and software development. You are highly accountable, action-oriented and take ownership of your tasks.
