We call it Rethink Tomorrow.Join us as our new Toxicologist (Scientist)Welcome to Product Safety Product Safety, a total of three departments (~40 people) share the global responsibility for the safety of all of Novozymes’ products across industries. We have stakeholders among internal colleagues and customers around the globe and we have a stake in all parts of Novozymes’ broad product portfolio. The Toxicology & Immunology department consists of 16 highly skilled lab technicians and scientists ensuring that Novozymes’ enzyme products are safe in use.In this role you will make an impact by: Provide toxicological support and coordination of investigations on products and product candidates within the product range of Novozymes e.g., enzymes and microbes for the food and feed industry, proteins, microorganisms, raw materials and products under development within the bio-agricultural and dietary supplements industries and other emerging business areas. Contribute to safety evaluations and risk assessments, in terms of toxicological potential, on new/modified compounds, raw materials or products, in relation to registration, internal safety as well as customer requirements. Act as a sponsor monitor being responsible for monitoring toxicological in vivo and in vitro investigations performed by contract research organizations (CROs) . Participate in project groups and exchange information with cross-functional stakeholders from the global Novozymes organization. Provide product safety advice regarding enzyme and microbe applications. Compile and review relevant safety documentation for authority and customer communication. Active member of the Novozymes Toxicology team providing day-to-day advice on toxicological issues globally Potentially relevant experience: Relevant scientific background (MSc, PhD, DVM) and experience within toxicology and safety evaluations preferably with emphasis on biomolecules and/or microorganisms. Experience with safety evaluation and risk assessments, in terms of toxicological/immunotox exposure potential, proteins, microbes, raw materials or products. Experience in relation to product registrations and interaction with authorities on this subject is desirable. Knowledge of OECD/FDA GLP and experience in scientific report writing. Experience with registration of chemicals and ecotoxicology/environmental risk assessment is a plus. Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a complex inter-disciplinary global organization.
