For our offshore projects our team is responsible for designing project specific wind turbine towers and foundations, focusing on the primary (load carrying) structure. The team handles not only the structural design, but also the drawings, production specifications, assesses any production deviations and is involved in new technology development. The team has a presence in Den Haag (NL), Hamburg (DE), Vejle (DK) and Bangalore (IN). The current position is open for the European offices. Occasional (international) travel is part of the project work.What are the key responsibilities associated with the job?In our sales and execution projects you are responsible for the manufacturability of the tower load carrying structure. This ranges from supporting in the initial contract review all the way through to non-conformance handling in production and warranty cases in operation.In this role you will align with many stakeholders on project specific requirements. These include, but are not limited to, technical project managers, tower designers, quality assurance engineers, suppliers, third party certification bodies and clients.Key deliverables are the production specifications covering fabrication, welding, metrology, (non-destructive) testing and corrosion protection. You will have detailed knowledge in some of these areas and develop basic knowledge in the others.Our team is intimately involved in developing our next generation turbines and the new technologies that enable them. As a manufacturing engineer you will be assigned to these projects to ensure design for manufacturability.Furthermore, you will support with technical knowledge in supplier quality development.What do I need to qualify for this job?You hold at minimum a BSc degree in mechanical or materials engineering or an equivalent field; proven experience working as a manufacturing engineer is beneficial.It is considered an advantage when you have experience in the offshore (wind) industry and when you are familiar with relevant standards (EN1090, EN10025).We are preferably seeking candidates that are either qualified welding engineer, are FROSIO certified (or equivalent), and/or have non-destructive testing (NDT) qualifications.It is paramount that you are proficient in English, both in reading and writing.You thrive in an international environment; our projects bring together various employee groups, nationalities, cultures, and authorities.We are looking for a person with good communication and presentation skills.In addition, you are enthusiastic, decisive, self-starting, result-oriented, customer focused, resourceful, and creative.
