Test Systems Hardware Engineer55 Per Hour (Umbrella)Cheltenham9 Month ContractInside IR35nAs an Advanced Lead Test Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for leading, specifying, designing & developing, Test Equipment solutions for power distribution and control programmes. You will work as part of an integrated product team to deliver test solutions for the latest power distribution controls products. You will take an innovative approach to problem-solving, demonstrate good people leadership skills, independence, sound technical judgment and be able identify and breakdown complex problems and formulate solutions.nJob DescriptionnRoles and Responsibilitiesn* Responsible for the full Test Systems life cycle – from initial requirements through to formal release and supportn* Execute the requirements, design, implementation, and verification of assigned test systems using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and product / programme requirementsn* Act as an engineering interface to the Project Manager, clearly articulating the technical direction and decisions and technically support the project planning and performance metricsn* Liaise and interface with other functions, e.g. Systems, Hardware, Programmes, Manufacturing, Sustainment, and other stakeholdersn* Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned Test Systems and/or tasks inline with engineering policies and proceduresn* Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviewsn* Provide technical guidance and leadership to personnel supporting the assigned projectn* Help coaching, mentoring, and training less experienced engineersn* Provide timely communications on significant issues or developmentsn* Participate on teams assigned to address organisational initiatives and engineering issuesnRequired Qualificationsn* Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experiencen* Experience of Test System design, development, and hardware/software integration ideally gained in an Aviation or similar high integrity environmentn* Experience of Qualification and EMC Test Equipment design, including an awareness of DO160 and MIL461nDesired Characteristicsn* Demonstrable success in achieving and exceeding customer milestonesn* Ability to deliver solutions on-time, to budget and with the required qualityn* Positive attitude, initiative, pro-activeness and an enthusiasm and passionn* Experience of mentoring less experienced engineersn* Experience with Aircraft Power Distribution Systems Verification Labsn
