The IT department of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS supports the departments as an internal service provider by providing and supporting the entire IT infrastructure such as client computers, network, server services, clusters, media technology and telephony. Because we are looking for support for our IT department team as soon as possible with a focus on Linux cluster support. What you do with us You will manage existing cluster systems based on Linux for the scientists* and develop them further. Likewise, you design new systems and services and implement them. You will support and advise staff* members in the performance of their tasks by providing IT services. What you bring to the table Completed university studies in computer science or a related field. Experience in the administration of heterogeneous systems (Linux: especially CentOS/Redhat, Debian, Windows) in the server and client area. Know-how in virtualization and container platforms (e.g. VMware, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes). Programming experience in scripting languages (preferably Bash, Python). The following qualifications or willingness to learn about these topics are also desirable: Practical experience in the use of clusters in the machine learning environment. Distributed file systems (BeeGFS, GlusterFS, S3).
