Senior scientist for oral product development – Novo Nordisk – Måløv

If yes, you could be our new scientist in the Emerging Products and Outsourcing department in Måløv.   Apply today and join us in developing the next generation of innovative oral products in Novo Nordisk.   The position The Novo Nordisk pipeline is growing and with it new small molecule drug candidates that have low solubility (BCS class II and class IV). We are therefore looking for a colleague with passion for the development of solid oral dosage forms with a focus on bioavailability enhancing (enabling) technologies, to bring these candidates forward in development.   In your role, you will collaborate with our contract development and manufacturing organisations (CDMOs) to develop formulations and manufacturing processes for new oral drug products. As process and production responsible your main task will be to work with our CDMOs on development studies and clinical productions, ensuring that we develop and deliver product, for all stages of clinical development. Enabling technologies will be applied as necessary based on the need within each specific project.    With your experience from the pharmaceutical industry, you represent the department in multi-disciplinary project groups. You work closely with experts from a wide range of areas and CDMOs. In addition, you will also plan project activities in close collaboration with the project- and line management. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you have: •    A Master’s degree within Life Sciences (e.g., engineering, pharmaceutical sciences) or similar •    Experience from the pharmaceutical industry or academia •    Experience with development of small molecule pharmaceuticals •    Experience with formulation and process optimisation of solid dosage forms •    Experience with enabling technologies for dissolution rate enhancement   •    Fluent in spoken and written English •    Experience with outsourcing and GMP manufacture at CDMO is an advantage but not a requirement •    Similarly, experience with solid state characterization of small molecules (API/DP) is an advantage   As an individual you enjoy working in a dynamic environment where teamwork is at the top of the agenda. As a senior you have the ability and skills to set direction scientifically and be a role model for your junior colleagues.    About the department The department “Emerging Technologies and Outsourcing” is part of the Oral Product Development area in Novo Nordisk. The main task of the department is to develop manufacturing processes for products in clinical development, bringing best-in-class treatments to the market. For new oral drug products developed in house, the manufacture takes place in our pilot plants, while products developed at CDMOs are manufactured by the CDMO. Emerging Technologies and Outsourcing consists of 30+ colleagues organised in 2 teams, one responsible for developing and manufacturing oral drug products in-house and one for outsourced products.   The team, Outsourced Product Development, consists of 7 dedicated and enthusiastic colleagues. In our team, the ambition is to develop oral drug product formulations and processes in collaboration with CDMOs.
