Every day.The Agro & Protein Systems (APS) group is dedicated to put systems together, using Alfa Laval core components as well as other technologies, to upcycle by-streams from traditional meat and fish industries, as well as developing systems for new future protein foods like insect, plant-based products, fermentation, etc. About the job You will become a key member of the Sales Unit APS group. You will run customer’s trials, both at laboratory (kgs) and pilot (tonnes) scale and give direct feedback in terms of technology and performance to the rest of the team to improve our offerings. You will also provide support to running projects. Typical process testing will include working with peas, beans, insects, meat, and fish to extract and refine starch, fibers, protein, bones, and oil/fats.As we work with full systems in APS, you will work and gain in-depth experience with decanters, high speed separators, evaporators, heat transfer equipment, fluid handling equipment, and technologies outside Alfa Laval portfolio like grinders, emulsifiers, solid-liquid separators, millers, dryers, etc.The position is on-site when working on laboratory and pilot tests, as well as visiting existing customers. It is based in Søborg (primary location), with possibility of remote working when working on reporting and other activities. Key tasks will include:Run laboratory and pilot scale testing/trials.Plan, coordinate, and execute tests based on global technology requirements. Important activities will involve risk analysis, coordination of suppliers, mechanical & electrical setup, product run, Cleaning in Place (CIP), and coordinating site cleaning.Managing test equipment pool.Support test documentation, testing reference list, and technology performance.Support invoicing follow-up.Ad-hoc for supporting performance audits, on-going projects, etc.Who are you You are a skilled technician or engineer with an analytical and data-driven mindset. You are a hands-on person, thriving in an international environment, and able to successfully communicate and coordinate activities with different stakeholders (internals, externals, Danish, and internationals.). Moreover, you exhibit significant expertise in terms of judgment and decision-making, along with a strong aptitude for learning and growing.What you know A relevant education within laboratory or industrial technician, Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering is preferred but not pre-requisite.Min. of 3 years of experience with laboratory or pilot test work from R&D or a manufacturing environment within the food industry or another type of industry.Knowledge of the food industry is a plus but not a requirement.Having a forklift license or willing to get one is a must.English language: advanced proficiencyDanish language an advantageYou will be travelling up to 96 days/year in Denmark (AL Nakskov / AL Søborg) and up to 24 days internationally.What’s in it for you This is a great opportunity to use and develop your technical, coordination, and communication skills to create first-class solutions for local and international projects in the feed, pet-food, and food-grade industry.
