For our Laboratory team of test specialists in Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy that resides on Assensvej 11 in Aalborg, we are now looking for a test engineer who specialises in mechanical testing and fracture analysis of especially fibre reinforced polymers. Our Laboratory team are spread across locations in Lyngby, Aalborg, Brande and Aoiz who are working with testing and characterization of both polymer- and metal-based materials. In the laboratory team we strive to get a better understanding of our material- and structural details through testing and development of test and characterization methods.How to contribute to our visionAs a Materials Test Engineer you will be a part of a versatile and strong team of experts within the field of materials engineering and testing. Your primary area of responsibility will be in the areas of static and dynamical testing of blade materials and metals with a very hands-on approach. Furthermore, you will work with development of test methods for mechanical testing as well as the related fracture mechanical analysis. In other words, a rich possibility to increase your knowledge in a lot of areas within materials engineering and to get a broad interface around the company.Your responsibilities will also include: * Mechanical testing of materials (static and dynamic tests). * Maintenance and calibration of test equipment and machinery. * Specification of tests in collaboration with the designer, along with follow-up and reporting. * Development of test methods, equipment and lab facilities – as well as the correlated fracture mechanical analysis. * Contact with local and international testing companies/institutions and suppliers of test equipment and technologies.What you need to make a differenceIdeally you have an educational background as MSc. within Materials Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or similar. You are specialized in or have experience with mechanical testing and are acquainted with testing of sandwich materials and FRP-materials. Ideally you have experience with analysis of composite materials and polymers, preferably of glass and carbon fibre reinforced polymers.You are an expert level user of Microsoft Office, primarily Excel. Experience in setting up test plans and documentation of experiments is required. Experience with Matlab or related data processing tools will be a benefit.You do not necessarily have a vast work experience.
