Manager, Energy Management Systems – Vestas – Aarhus

ResponsibilitiesThe position has two components: leadership and technical engineering. The preferred candidate has the ability to span both domains and we are seeking an innovative leader with deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience. You will: Supervise and handle a team of multinational Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, PhDs, trainees and consultants based in Aarhus, Denmark and Porto, Portugal Inspire, direct and facilitate new innovative ideas, primarily within the technical domain of electrical engineering, but the position also comes with a responsibility of being innovative and generate new ideas and concepts for control and monitoring solutions for wind turbines, hybrid power plants, energy storage system applications and renewable energy solutions in general Develop and anchor ideas in technology and Minimum Viable Product-roadmaps Develop or supervise Control software development in Structured Text and C for Real-time embedded systems including PLC’s Design control and monitoring strategies for renewable energy solutions Configuration and setup of data communication network and I/O FAT, SAT and commissioning of projects at factory and on-site You value the agile approach and target small fast sprints focusing on removing key uncertainties with smallest amount of effort, keeping a focus on our goal and stop activities which does not lead to our common goal. Qualifications B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Software Engineering, Automation or Control Engineering plus minimum 5 years of leadership experience Hands-on experience with product and technology development + 5 years of experience within real-time and control software development Programming Skills (IEC6131-3 Structured Text, C, C++) Experience with development for a PLC platform (Bachmann or similar) Experience with industrial data communication protocols (CAN, Modbus, etc.) Experience with laboratory, field test and commissioning work Moreover, being familiar with below is desirable: Software development tools (Jira, SourceTree, Git, etc.) Control engineering (closed loop control, etc.) Simulation tools such as MATLAB / Simulink SCRUM and Agile Development Competencies You have the ability to convert technical knowledge into commercial impact You have an innovative mindset and thrive in a flexible atmosphere where not all process and methodologies are carved in stone You are eager to direct things forward and can combine existing solutions with the opportunities that new technologies bring You work effectively as a contributor but value collaboration and teamwork Capable of creating professional networks within and outside Vestas You have the perseverance and courage to make your ideas come true You have the desire and the ability to understand and maintain overview of a wide range of advanced technical domains What we offer We offer the opportunity to work in an exciting and inspiring atmosphere where we value the good idea, speed, agility and results.
