Elsevier is looking for a Portfolio Integration Consultant to join the Research Product department in Amsterdam, Aalborg or Milan!As a Portfolio Integration Consultant, you will be reporting to the Portfolio Integration Director and be working together to drive innovation within the Research Intelligence portfolio, by delivering integration projects with partner institutions in the Academic and Government sector. These projects will focus on integrating the products in Elsevier’s Research Intelligence portfolio (Pure, Digital Commons, SciVal, Scopus, Funding Institutional, Data Monitor) with legacy systems and third-party solutions adopted by customers. Integrations will leverage existing product capabilities and APIs.In this position, your main responsibility will be to manage integration solutions: you will interact with customers to analyze their needs and you will design workflows and define the requirements of the integration solution. As the Product Manager for integration projects, you will collaborate with a team of software engineers who will implement the solutions you have designed following Agile methodologies.Finally, in collaboration with the sales team, you will contribute to maintaining a steady pipeline of project opportunities, prioritized according to their business value, strategic importance, and feasibility. The right person for this position will have a unique blend of both technical and business expertise: this is customer-facing role, and the ideal candidate should be able to communicate effectively with the functional as well as technical roles at customers.This person will interact with a broad network of internal stakeholders from various departments (Product, Technology, Sales, Marketing) as well as external (customers, vendors); stakeholders and teams are distributed globally across different time zones which requires operating and building strong relationships in a virtual environment.This person will develop over time an in-depth knowledge of the Research Management domain as well as the data analytics and software solutions in Elsevier’s Research Intelligence portfolio.Your responsibilities 1) Project deliveryDefine requirements for integration solutionsAssess feasibility and create prototypesAct as the Product Owner in an Agile teamParticipate in meetings with customer to keep track of progress Support customer during the go-live and roll-out of the solutions3) Internal stakeholder alignment Product: stay up to date with latest releases. Share customer needs to identify the best way to support them. Share learnings from integration projects to inform product roadmaps. Contribute to shaping the Portfolio value proposition and strategy. Technology: contribute to establishing effective ways of working, help the team familiarize with Elsevier’s data and solutions Sales: align on ongoing projects; identify new sales opportunities and drive the pipeline Marketing: contribute to communicate the outcomes of successful projects with case studies, presentations, etc. for internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to the overall Portfolio Value Story.What you should bringBS degree in Computer Science, engineering, or other relevant technical education 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing role (consulting, professional services, sales) 3+ years of programming experience Good expertise with SQL, web services, XML, JSONGood expertise with data manipulation using tools and scripting languages such as Python / Jupyter Notebook or similarWorking experience of Enterprise Integration and related frameworks and tools is considered a plus Working experience with Java /Spring is considered a plus Working experience with Big Data platforms such as Apache Spark, DataBricks is considered a plus Strong communications skills in English are required, both written and spoken.
