With increasing demand for transparency in reporting and data-driven decision-making, the Head of ESG Strategy & Reporting role is vital in Novo Nordisk’s efforts to remain a leader in sustainability. The position As Head of ESG Strategy & Reporting, you will develop and drive the company’s internal and external ESG reporting. In doing so, you will work with and across the business, senior management and the Board of Directors. With insight into the rapidly developing field of ESG reporting and attention to detail, you will ensure that our reporting is best-in-class, and you will enable data-driven sustainability decisions. Furthermore, you will work closely with the Corporate Vice President of Global Public Affairs & Sustainability in ensuring that cross-cutting strategic projects are developed and delivered. The Head of ESG Strategy & Reporting will be responsible for: Driving and further developing our external ESG reporting, including the Annual Report, in line with expectations from internal and external stakeholders as well as forthcoming legislation Continuously improving the availability, coverage, and quality of data for ESG reporting as well as for forecasting and analyses Managing and further developing the strategic collaboration with the Novo Nordisk Foundation Leveraging and further developing the newly established Sustainability Advisory Council aiming at challenging our strategies and initiatives from an external perspective Supporting cross-cutting strategic priorities, including the development of strategies and roadmaps Leading a team of approximately 6 Qualifications The ideal candidate has: 3+ years business experience working with strategy and sustainability in a corporate setting 3+ years business experience working with reporting and data management in a corporate setting 3+ years line management experience with a proven track record of developing a team and its members in a leadership role A relevant Master’s degree (e.g. economics, business administration, accounting, social sciences or engineering) Excellent written and spoken English The ideal candidate is a proactive, independently-minded executive with strong decision-making power. With strong stakeholder management skills, they are capable of further strengthening the collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders and represent Novo Nordisk towards e.g. investors, ESG standard-setters and ESG rating agencies. As a leader, they bring the ability to develop individuals and encourage high performance with a focus on striving for excellence in reporting and sustainability at large. They bring attention to detail and the desire to continuously develop our ESG reporting in close collaboration with stakeholders from across the organisation. Having a strategic mindset, they are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver clear and actionable recommendations. About the Department The ESG Strategy & Reporting team is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s internal and external ESG reporting and supports Global Public Affairs & Sustainability in delivering on cross-cutting strategic priorities. Our team ensures that our ESG reporting complies with relevant legislation and standards and lives up to the expectations of internal and external stakeholders. We support our colleagues by delivering high-quality data enabling data-driven decisions, and we ensure that the priorities of the Corporate Vice President of Global Public Affairs & Sustainability are pursued. ESG Strategy & Reporting is part of Global Public Affairs & Sustainability which is part of Commercial Strategy and Corporate Affairs. The role will be based in our headquarters office in Bagsværd, Denmark.
