FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR – Chumash – Hadsten

Food & Beverage Supervisor JOB DESCRIPTION: Starting Pay Rate:$23.23 – $27.33/HR, DOE Under the direction of the Food & Beverage Manager, supervises the daily operations and functions of the restaurant, bar, and kitchen areas, including safety, compliance, and staff for The Hadsten. Ensures that all standards of service are consistent in quality and excellence. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Primary Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks: • Assist the Food & Beverage Manager by supervising the restaurant, bar, and kitchen operations and ensures the efficient utilization of staff and equipment.• Provides the finest guest dining experience while leading a highly motivated and guest service-focused team.• Assist with Team Member management, including training, coaching, evaluating performance, and discipling; many also manage work schedules. Communicates with the Food & Beverage Manager regarding performance and other personnel issues.• Supervises service and interfaces with the front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) restaurant teams, to ensure outstanding guest service. Particular focus is paid on timing of food.• Conducts departmental staff meetings to provide updates and foster communication.• Provides and participates in the ongoing training of the Food & Beverage team, including attendance in training and development classes through Chumash University and departmental training sessions.• Oversees and ensures safety inspections of the restaurant kitchen and service areas are regularly conducted and facilities are maintained to sanitation, safety, and aesthetics standards.• Responsible for ensuring all F&B areas are adequate in inventory supply levels and they are kept organized and clean.• Responsible for ensuring compliance with cash control and tip procedures are followed.• Ensures that all standards of service are consistent in quality and excellence.• Ensures compliance with all departmental and regulatory rules, policies, and procedures, including alcohol and beverage service.• Ensures all liquor laws are adhered to and enforced by staff at all times.• Serves guests food and drinks, bus tables, cashier, and answer phones during peak times or as needed.• Ensures customer satisfaction and addresses guests’ issues as they arise.• May perform administrative tasks as directed by the Food & Beverage Manager• Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.• Two years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry.• Supervisory experience preferred.• Knowledge of leadership and management skills and techniques; ability to develop and mentor others.• Knowledge of applicable law, regulations, rules, procedures, and administration is required. • Must be knowledgeable in all areas of kitchen and dining service.• Proficient in Point of Sale (POS) systems.• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications, e-mail, and internet.• Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills.• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience, and tact.• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with outside agencies, vendors, other management staff, and team members.• Excellent guest service skills.• Exceptional attention to detail and follow-up skills.• Able to effectively establish priorities and meet deadlines.• Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.• Must obtain food handler card within 30 days of employment.• Must be certified or be able to obtain certification in an approved alcoholic awareness program within 90 days of employment.• Native American hiring preference applies. Working Conditions: • Flexible work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.• Standing for extended periods of time.• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.• The Team Member is usually subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.• The Team Member is usually subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions.• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
