The role entails a ton of responsibility within Finance, but also with the possibility of expanding into other areas of the business if the interest is there.Messy Weekend is a venture-backed fashion eyewear startup based in Copenhagen. We operate globally via cutting-edge e-commerce and distribute in fashion and department stores worldwide.We are born from the belief that everyone should have access to affordable eyewear, and produce handmade sunglasses and ski goggles at prices that are around half of comparable brands, and wrap it in a cool (if you ask us) urban brand. We were established in 2018 and have in less than 5 years established a household brand name in Denmark and some European countries, and we are now a team of 15 people based in the centre of Copenhagen.In order to support our continued growth, we are looking for a part-time Finance Associate to support our company. The position is part-time, but an ambition of turning it into a full-time job eventually.Your tasks will be: * Conduct high-level financial analysis to enable insightful decision-making for the management based on revenue, inventory, cost structures, etc., * Work with the financials of a multinational start-up to ensure the most cost-efficient growth * Prepare and develop monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting presentations and budget models for our team of investors and management * Help strategically and tactically plan the financials for new business areas and our expansion plans worldwide * Optimization of our current accounting and cost set-ups across production, shipping, marketing and forex. * Optimizing and automating our current set-ups to ensure efficient work-ways * Provide daily and weekly insights for management Qualifications: * Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment * Analytical mindset and willingness to learn * A disciplined and structured approach to work * Able to work 15-20h a week besides studying * Preferably a student in a related study * Optional: Knowledge of e-conomic, Excel and experience in Finance It is important to note that we have an external bookkeeper connected to the company, so the role does not entail booking invoices on accounts, but rather working with financials on a more tactical and strategic level to be able to leverage it for our continued growth.For enquiries please reach out to: Mads Koch Petersen, COO & Co-founder, mkp(a)messyweekend.comPreferred start-date: 1.
