Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?As our new experienced Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the smooth operations of our data and computational infrastructure. Part of your new role is to establish and maintain data pipelines and deploy software tools for research and development projects. Role responsibilities include:Maintain the smooth operation of our computational systems, data management, and analytical software.Develop data pipelines, optimizing data processes from delivery to analysis.Configure and deploy analytics software tools.Implement projects that contribute to data standardization, integration, optimization, quality assurance, and quality control.Collaborate with multidisciplinary Lundbeck’s R&D teams and Global IT teams.Identify challenges at project design phase and communicate efficient solutions.Share knowledge with your colleagues and keep our organization updated on the latest developments.Work in a regulated area involving patient data. You must appreciate the restrictions this imposes as well as the impact of analyses on major decisions in drug-development projects and budgets. Your future teamData Science is part of Biometrics, the division responsible for handling and analyzing data across the drug development value chains. The division consists of 6 departments: Data Science, Digital Devices, Digital Solutions, Data Management, Biostatistics, and Statistical Programming. In total, we are over 70 people. Data Science currently employs 8 highly skilled colleagues. The primary responsibility of the department is to contribute to Lundbeck’s R&D projects. Our target is to improve portfolio decision making, enhance clinical trials, and reduce the risk for research and development by increasing trust in data-driven insights. Our work is focused on the life cycle of data operations (DataOps) and the compute environment that enables data scientists to produce trustworthy, explainable evidence. We rely on efficient solutions for data management, data curation, data standardization, data integration, and data analyses. The desired start date is September 1st, 2023. What you bring to the teamYou are a highly skilled Data Engineer with several years of experience in Linux and bash scripting. Only a few can match your motivation to continuously improve data and computational infrastructure that are used for improving Brain Health. When working with and optimizing large relational databases it feels like second nature. In addition, you bring the following skills:You speak Python or R better than human languages. Using version control (Git) is what keeps entropy low and makes a day brighter.Your experience with containerized application configuration, deployment, and maintenance in local or cloud environments made you a legend among friends and colleagues.You have good verbal and written communication skills using the English language.You are comfortable to work autonomously within your field of expertise, and you enjoy the benefits of close cross-functional collaboration.
