Data and models to support wastewater based epidemiology and COVID-19 monitoring Udbyder Vejleder Sted København og omegn How can you get information on the health status of city, without asking each citizen how he/she is doing? Simple, you measure their wastewater! Wastewater Based Epidemiology (WBE) has raised from a niche research area to a widespread topic due to the COVID-19 crisis. A lot of research groups around the world were able to predict (and anticipate) the extend of COVID-19 outbreaks by measuring the virus presence at the inlet of Wastewater Treatment Plants… but a lot of things to the virus happens in the journey from the toilet to the sampling point, are models of the sewer network are used to identify monitoring sites and to backcalculate the number of infected citizens.This project will investigate the use of model of different complexity for WBE applications in monitoring outbreaks of COVID-19 (and potentially of other diseases).
