To accommodate and strengthen Medical Affairs, an organizational change has recently been announced including the establishment of a new cross-functional Medical Portfolio Corporate Vice President area. The PositionThe new Corporate Vice President Medical Portfolio area will be a member of the Global Medical Affairs Leadership Team and provide therapeutic area-agnostic support across the organization, with overall responsibility for a number of key areas.   These include: Global Medical Affairs, Global Business Services in India, an important and fully integrated HQ function; Study Programmes delivering Global Medical Affairs coordination and support of major Novo Nordisk clinical trials; Integrated Evidence Planning, providing a cross-functional, systematic and strategic approach to the identification and prioritization of evidence gaps and generation;Publications, responsible for planning, coordination and execution of publications across, but not restricted, the clinical development programmes;Patient Partnerships, ensuring the patient voice is not just incorporated but at the centre of everything that we do; Medical Intelligence Unit which provides consolidated and robust medical input into key product and portfolio decisions, and which proactively identifies and plans for critical external medical events affecting our portfolio. Consolidating these functions into one Corporate Vice President area enables cross-therapeutic area prioritisation to respond to an increasing demand for evidence generation and dissemination in a coordinated manner and at the same time harness the synergies of these related functions. As the Corporate Vice President, Medical Portfolio, Global Medical Affairs you will (together with the CVP’s of therapeutic areas) be overall accountable for the development, implementation and execution of the global medical affairs strategy aligned with the corporate strategy and the commercial product strategies. You will be responsible for securing that our global commercial strategies are aligned and strongly reflect the relevant medical insights and strategies across therapeutic areas.  Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, the Corporate Vice President, Medical Portfolio, Global Medical Affairs will be based in Bagsvaerd, Denmark. QualificationsWe expect you to have a Medical Degree and preferably a PhD and/or specialist degree as well as long standing clinical training and experience. We also expect you to have a proven clinical and/or research background with interest in advanced scientific analysis and communication.  We expect you to have at least 10 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry with a proven track record of a successful leadership role in a medical affairs organization including setting strategies in scientific/clinical practices and communications, in pharmaceutical law/guidance adherence and in business ethics and compliance. In addition, you have a proven leadership track record and experience with leading leaders. You are a role model in leadership showing professionalism, dedication, direction setting and drive.
